Deferr Industrial

Potable water must not contain more than 0,2 mg/L of iron and 0,05 mg/L of manganese. For technological use these rules can be even more restrictive because iron and manganese negatively interfere in many production processes.

Besides limiting water potability, the excess of iron and manganese causes deposits along the pipelines with gradual clogging of the pipes and provokes corrosion and bacteria. It is therefore particularly important to remove the excess of iron and manganese from water to avoid damages to water systems and undesired effects in process waters.

It is necessary to oxidise iron and manganese before the Deferr filter.

The filtering masses of the Deferr can treat high water volumes within a short time since the catalytic action carried out by particular substances present in the filtering masses accelerate the transformation of the iron dissolved in water in flocks that are more easily retained by the filter.

To periodically remove these flocks, the iron reover automatically carries out a backwash. The frequency of the backwashing is determined by the pressure losses caused by the flocks depositing.

Deferr iron removers are designed to work even in contemporary presence of both iron and manganese. Deferr iron removers can also retain other impurities such as clay and silt.

Deferr industrial iron removers are manufactured in metallic carpentry. Backwashing is automatically carried out. The distribution system is made up of a plate with diffusers. The valves are pneumatic buttery valves and the system is controlled by GEL Electronic Filtering Timer.
